In the big book of things that piss Amber off rests the most evil and disgusting of all peeves: People who refuse to enjoy themselves.
Example #1: The Hateful
I know a gentleman with infinite potential. He's handsome, charismatic, talented... But his only contribution to the world is to whine and whine all over twitter. Seriously, all this guy does is lay down hate and judgement on those who can't read what he types. He could be spending this time practicing a hobby, but he's so filled with loathing that even when he IS playing a game, he insists on tweeting about how shit his situation is.
Example #2: The Scared
I know a girl who, much like our first example, was presented with unlimited potential, but instead of embracing it, she finds a reason to be afraid of it. We're all privileged Americans in this boat, let go of your social anxiety and go out to lunch when someone invites you. I know Philly is a big city, and big cities are intimidating, but we're all humans in this world. I've been new to this city too. Get out of suburbia and look up the side of a marvelous skyscraper for a change.
Example #3: The Bored
"I'm so bored."
"Well, come over and do something."
"I don't want to."
"Please violently remove yourself from humanity."
Example #4: The Uptight
Spoiler alert, I'm related to one of these. This is someone who refuses to learn, change or evolve in any fashion, even if doing so would improve their life greatly. Now, I'm pretty stubborn, but if I'm proved wrong, I'll always back down. Logic rules all, except in the case of the Uptight. This person is a combination of all three above examples. They spread hate and bigotry for no good reason other than that they're sheltered and spoiled. They refuse to try new experiences out of fear of their 'safety' (because just living in Philadelphia declares at least one bullet in your torso, apparently). And they whine and whine about the state of things and never once in their entire lives have they DONE something about it.
I think each of these pretty much explain themselves. The saddest part is that know all of these people. And to all of them, I will gladly gift a hearty "JFDI"... JUST FUCKING DO IT
